Effy wasn’t feeling good, as always when she would show her emotions as much as she had been lately. She ran and ran until she couldn’t run no more and found a tree stump. She silently cried for a few seconds until her breathing got more harsher and quicker, almost sounding as if she was hyperventilating or having a panic attack. Effy didn’t look up when Emily came or even wrapped her arms around her shoulders. Effy heard more rustling in the woods and grabbed her head in a panic. “I thought they were gone, they’re coming again!” She exclaimed until she saw Cook then Freddie in front of them, breathing heavily from running. Effy turned and ran away as she heard Emily, Freddie, and Cook arguing, more like yelling at each other actually.

Emily watched Effy as she freaked out about the boys coming after them. “Effy, calm down, Effy it’s fine, you’re okay, you’re okay,” Emily kept telling her as she wrapped her arms around her. As they saw Cook and Freddy approaching, Effy broke free from Emily’s arms and jolted off into the woods. “Great guys. Fucking great.” The boys stared at eachother looking lost as Emily began to tear up from the chaos of the situation. She didn’t want Effy going back to how she was and she knew this was unintentionally the boys’ fault. Emily argued with Cook while she hinted secretly to Freddy to chase after Effy. She signaled with her hand behind Cook’s back as Freddy got the hint and started running for Effy.

Emily was playing with a stick in the fire as she watched the gang around here. JJ and some of the girls were playing around and setting everything up. Effy and Cook were fighting and making out, which was the usual cycle. Freddy and Katie happened to be awkwardly sitting across from Emily at the fire while holding hands with one another. Emily turned the stick in the fire a few times right before Effy sat down. “What happened with Cook, eh? What did you say?”

Effy sighed as she saw Katie and Freddie from the corner of her eyes and just shrugged. “I told him to tone it down a bit but I guess he didn’t understand?” She ran her hands through her hair as she started to stress a little and felt a few tears building up in her eyes as she felt Cook’s stare on her. “I don’t know why or what the fuck to do.” Effy finally looked up to meet Cook’s glance but of course when she started to look up, he looked the other way. “Fuck,” she muttered under her breath as she started to run through the woods. 

 Emily sat and listened as Effy told her what was going on. “When the fuck does Cook ever understand?” Emily said to Effy as she nodded in agreement. Emily watched as Effy and Cook kept fighting a stare war between the two of them. As Effy began to tear up, and run off, Emily flipped off Cook and ran after her. “Effy, Effy, please, please come back here!” Emily exclaimed as she nervously entered the woods to search for Effy. She knew what could and would happen. The result wasn’t going to be good unless she found Effy and settled her down. Emily ran and ran to finally find Effy wrapping her arms around her legs, sitting on a tree stump, while crying.

 Emily grabbed Cassie’s hand as the sun set and they ventured to their bikes. It had been an amazing day between the two of them, but it was now getting too cold. “Ready to head home, Cass?” Emily said as she smiled towards the giddy blonde. The two grabbed their bikes, packed up and were on their way. They rode quickly as to get out of the cold. It was beginning to sprinkle a bit and the two girls laughed as they hurried home. They stumbled upon Cassie’s doorstep and threw the bikes on the side of the house, making sure to cover them from the rain.
“It’s so freezing,” Emily exclaimed as Cassie opened the door. They came inside and ran upstairs to turn on the bath and fill the tub with warm water. “Your lips are even purple now!” Emily said to Cassie as they hugged to keep warm.

 Cassie shivered, a smile dancing on her lips. She turned on the tub water and stripped down so she wasn’t wearing anything. Cass curled up in the hot water, sighing as the warmth ran over her. “Don’t be shy Em.” she grinned at her. It had been a wonderful day, but it wasn’t over.

 Emily started to blush as Cassie stripped down for the tub. This was the perfect day. It truly was. She loved being with Cassie and loved that she was being vulnerable with her. She slipped down to nothing with Cassie and jumped in the warm water. She sat back into Cassie’s lap and let Cassie wrap her arms around her in the tub. She rested back onto Cassie’s shoulder and kissed her neck. Emily sighed heavily as the water continued to get warm and kissed her neck once more.

 Cassie sighed contently. She held Emily in her arms, kissing the top of her head. The water was a comfortable temperature. Cass closed her eyes as Em kissed her neck. “This is perfect.” she sighed again.

 Emily kept kissing Cassie’s neck as Cassie continued to kiss on Emily’s head. Emily ran warm water up and down Cassie’s arms as they sat in the bath. “It is, Cass, it really is.” Emily smiled as she leaned against Cassie. Cassie was her perfect match and she knew it. The glow that continued to shine from Cassie’s joyful demeanor was evident to Emily as she was close to her. Emily and Cassie sighed together and giggled. They were thinking the same thing, or else Emily would assume so. This was too good to be real. It was too comfortable to be real. The problem was, it was real and they couldn’t accept that happiness and contentment could be found between them in such the simpliest of ways.
